Physical properties of steel

Name Unit Definition
Density g/cm³kg/cm³ Density refers to the mass per unit volume of a substance
Melting point K,℃ The melting temperature of metallic materials when they change from solid to liquid
Specific heat J/(kg.k) The heat absorbed by a substance per unit mass when the temperature rises by 1°C or the heat released when the temperature decreases by 1°C
Thermal conductivity W/(m.K) When the unit temperature gradient △L/△T is maintained, the heat (Q) flowing through the unit cross-sectional area (A) of the object within the unit time (t) is called the thermal conductivity of the material
Linear expansion coefficient 10-6 K-1 The ratio of the length of the metal to the original length when the metal temperature increases by 1℃. As the temperature increases, the coefficient of thermal expansion increases accordingly, and the coefficient of linear expansion of steel is generally in the range of (10-20)*10-6
Resistivity Ω.mm²/m A parameter representing the electrical conductivity of an object, it is equal to the resistance between the ends of the wire with a length of 1M and a cross-sectional area of 1mm²
Permeability H/m A measure of the difficulty of magnetizing a magnetic material, that is, the performance index of the magnetic permeability is equal to the ratio of the magnetic induction strength (B) and the magnetic field strength (H) of the magnetic material.
